Our Kid’s Climate – im Namen unserer Kinder

Nach der Gründung der Fridays for Future 2019 schlossen sich weltweit Elterngruppen zusammen, bildeten immer größere Netzwerke und bauten eine globale Zusammenarbeit auf. Our Kid‘s Climate ist eines dieser weltweiten Netzwerke. Seine Wurzeln gehen bis zur Pariser Klimakonferenz 2015 zurück. 2019 wurde die Bewegung zu einer Organisation. Inzwischen haben sich Klimagruppen aus über 50 Staaten dem Netzwerk angeschlossen. Auch Parents for Future Germany gehören dazu.
Ziel des Netzwerkes ist es, Klimagruppen weltweit zu stärken und zu vernetzen – bis hin zu länderübergreifenden Projekten und Aktionen. So entstand beispielsweise die Ausstellung "Our Other Mother" mit Illustrationen, die die Verbundenheit zwischen Kindern und der Erde thematisieren.
Eine der vielleicht wichtigsten Aktionen war der gemeinsame Brief, der zur COP 26 in Glasgow an die Delegierten der Klimakonferenz überreicht wurde und klare Forderungen für einen wirkungsvollen Klimaschutz formulierte. Über 500 Gruppen aus 44 Staaten unterschrieben ihn.
Hier ein Auszug: "Sehr geehrte Staatsoberhäupter, Verhandlungsführer und COP-Präsident, wir sind Millionen Eltern aus aller Welt, die im Namen der Kinder schreiben, die wir lieben. Wir fordern, dass Sie die Finanzierung aller neuen fossilen Brennstoffe jetzt beenden…"

Our Kid’s Climate – in the name of our children
After the founding of Fridays for Future in 2019, parent groups around the world joined forces, formed ever larger networks and built up global cooperation. Our Kid‘s Climate is one of these worldwide networks. Its roots go back to the Paris Climate Conference in 2015. In 2019, the movement became an organization. Climate groups from over 50 countries have now joined the network. Parents for Future Germany is also one of them.
The aim of the network is to strengthen and connect climate groups worldwide – including transnational projects and campaigns. For example, the exhibition "Our Other Mother" was created with illustrations that focus on the connection between children and the earth.
Perhaps one of the most important actions was the joint letter that was presented to the delegates of the climate conference at COP 26 in Glasgow and formulated clear demands for effective climate protection. Over 500 groups from 44 countries signed it.
Here is an excerpt: "Dear Heads of State, Lead Negotiators and COP President, we are millions of parents from around the world writing on behalf of the children we love. We demand that you end the financing for all new fossil fuels now..."
